Benha National University Organizes an Educational Seminar Celebrating the 51st Anniversary of the October Victories

Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Kalyobiya, and Major General Osama Abdel-Hamid Dawood, Commander of the Popular Defense and Military Forces, along with Prof. Suhair Shaarawi, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Major General Prof. Samir Farag, military strategic expert, attended an educational seminar celebrating the 51st anniversary of the October War victories. The event was also attended by Colonel Mohamed Tolba, the military advisor to Kalyobiya Governorate, Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President of the University for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, and Prof. Karim Al-Dash, Vice President for International Relations.

Representatives from the Egyptian Family House, deans of colleges at the university, heads of the 10th of Ramadan City Authority, the Chairman of the Investors Association, the university's Secretary-General, the Assistant Secretary, faculty members, and students.

During his speech, Engineer Ayman Attia emphasized that October 6 witnessed numerous challenges and sacrifices made by the Egyptian people and the armed forces, providing invaluable lessons for future generations. He noted that the soldiers of the armed forces succeeded in shattering the myth of the Israeli army's invincibility, insisting on achieving victory by offering their blood and souls for the beloved homeland. This precious victory allowed Egypt to attain peace and usher in a new era in which its citizens can advance significantly in the path of construction and development.

Prof. Suhair Shaarawi expressed her happiness in celebrating the 51st anniversary of the October War, which teaches us that struggle can change reality and turn defeat into victory. She emphasized that changing reality cannot be achieved through slogans or grand words but requires planning, effort, work, and sacrifices.

Shaarawi pointed out that it was essential for the university to hold this educational seminar to raise awareness among students about the lessons and insights that can be learned from the October victories, emphasizing the genuine spirit of the Egyptian people throughout history and their ability to unite and stand firm in times of crisis. She paid tribute to all those who contributed to creating the greatest days in Egypt's modern history, honoring the souls of martyrs and expressing respect and appreciation for the armed forces, a symbol of bravery and resilience.

In his speech, Prof. Tamer Samir noted that the anniversary of the glorious October War represents one of the finest moments in modern Egyptian history, as it recalls the heroics of the great Egyptian army that rewrote history with their blood and sacrifices, achieving a tremendous victory that exceeded expectations and restored Egypt's dignity and prestige.

Samir added that the October War was not merely a military battle but a message to the world that Egypt is capable of defending its land and dignity, regardless of the challenges. He emphasized that we should draw lessons from the great October victories and reaffirms the necessity of maintaining our national unity and working diligently to build a bright future for our beloved Egypt.

For his part, Prof. Mahmoud Shakl described the October War as a national epic and a pivotal moment in the history of the Arab nation, symbolizing will and determination and serving as a lesson in unity and resolve. He noted that the October victories demonstrated the Egyptian people's ability to face challenges, no matter how difficult, and achieve victory when strong will and faith in the cause are present.

Shakl also indicated that the seminar aims to raise awareness among university students and highlight the heroics and sacrifices of the armed forces during the glorious October War, allowing us to enjoy freedom and peace today.

Major General Osama Abdel-Hamid Dawood began his speech by conveying greetings from General Abdel-Majid Seqar, the Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, and General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. He expressed his pleasure at being at Benha National University, a house of knowledge, emphasizing that celebrating the October victories embodies Egypt's great will, its political leadership, its brave army, and its diverse population's determination. He affirmed Egypt's commitment to being a fortress for the nation and a shield for its security and stability.

The Commander of the Popular Defense and Military Forces stressed the necessity of educating youth and protecting them from misguided ideas and destructive beliefs through proper awareness of the risks and threats to Egypt's national security across all strategic directions. He pointed out that the current situation in the neighboring regions is unstable, increasing threats against Egypt, which requires full awareness of our national interests and recognition of the tremendous efforts made by the Egyptian state in various fields, both domestically and internationally.

The seminar included a lecture by Major General Prof. Samir Farag, a military strategic expert and one of the heroes of the October War, who confirmed that the October victory was a pivotal moment in Egypt's and the Arab nation's history, restoring Egypt's national dignity on its soil and demonstrating the Egyptian army's exceptional ability to plan, execute, and triumph over significant military challenges.

Major General Samir Farag noted that the challenges facing Egyptian national security are still present on all strategic fronts, necessitating our readiness to confront and address them with unity of will, resilience of our people, and determination and capability of our armed forces, ensuring the dignity, honor, sovereignty, and stability of our Egypt.
