In the framework of enhancing joint cooperation in supporting athletes and their families in the Special Olympics, a cooperation protocol was signed between Benha National University and the Egyptian Special Olympics at the university's headquarters in Al-Obour City. This protocol aims to develop specialized health programs for athletes and their families, ensuring they benefit from advanced medical and therapeutic services.
The signing of the protocol took place in the presence of Professor Tamer Samir, President of the University. The cooperation protocol was signed by Professor Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, and Professor Bassem Tahami, National Director of the Egyptian Special Olympics.
Professor Tamer Samir emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and civil society organizations like the Egyptian Special Olympics, noting that this protocol is a significant step towards achieving social and sports integration for people with disabilities, improving their quality of life through specialized medical support.
He added that this cooperation serves as a launching point for several future projects with the Egyptian Special Olympics, which will enhance Benha University's role in supporting the local community and reflect the university's commitment to achieving a comprehensive vision in social responsibility through fruitful partnerships.
Professor Mahmoud Shakl expressed pride in this cooperation, affirming that Benha National University always seeks to support innovation and entrepreneurship in all fields, including social areas. He pointed out that this protocol will enable the university to provide outstanding training programs for athletes, contributing to the development of their skills and athletic abilities.
Professor Bassem Tahami, National Director of the Egyptian Special Olympics, expressed his great happiness with this fruitful collaboration with Benha University, indicating that this agreement represents an important step in supporting and caring for athletes with intellectual disabilities in Egypt.
