Benha National University Organized Qur’an Recitation Competition and Honored the Winners among University Students

Under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, the university's Student Activities Administration organized a Qur’an recitation competition for its students, with 33 male and female participants from various Colleges of the university.

The competition was supervised by Prof. Hussein Al-Maghrabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Emad Abdel-Rasoul, General Coordinator of Student Activities, with the presence of Sheikh Mohamed Shaaban, Director of Religious Guidance and Preacher of Kalyobiya at Al-Azhar, who served as a judge for the competition.

Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized the university's commitment to organizing the competition in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, aiming to encourage talented students and enhance religious values within them. He also highlighted the importance of reciting and memorizing the Qur’an and reflecting on its meanings, citing the Prophet Muhammad's saying: "The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it." He affirmed that Benha National University is keen on cultural and religious activities that contribute to creating a community environment that supports Islamic human values.

In turn, Prof. Hussein Al-Maghrabi confirmed that the university does not limit itself to academic education alone but also strives to offer activities that contribute to the spiritual and human development of its students, aiding in the holistic development of their personalities. He added that these competitions provide students with an opportunity to express their religious talents and foster a spirit of cooperation and love among them.

At the end of the competition, Prof. Tamer Samir honored the top ten winners.

  • Ahmed Ismail Gharib from the College of Dentistry (first year) secured the first place,
  • Fatima El-Sayed Ragab from the College of Medicine (first year) won first place among female students.
  • Saad Yasser Saad, also from the College of Medicine (first year), came in second, and
  • Safia Tarek Hashem from the College of Medicine (second year) won second place among female students.
  • In third place, Ahmed Mohamed Hassan from the College of Dentistry (second year) won,
  • Hanin Mustafa El-Sayed from the College of Dentistry (second year) secured third place among female students.
  • Youssef Shaaban Al-Ajami from the College of Physical Therapy (second year) came in fourth,
  • Student Lujain Ayman Abbas from the College of Medicine (third year) who also placed fourth among female students.
  • Ahmed Amir El-Sayed from the College of Medicine (second year) took fifth place,
  • Mariam Mohamed Atiya from the College of Dentistry (second year) won fifth place among female students.
