Benha National University organized an awareness seminar titled “Current International and Regional Challenges and Their Impact on the Future of Development in Egypt.” This is part of the ongoing activities of the “Awareness” initiative launched by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of the University, aimed at raising awareness among students, university staff, and the external community regarding the issues and challenges facing the Egyptian state.
The seminar was held under the auspices of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, in collaboration with the Leaders Foundation for Administrative Sciences and Development. It was attended by Prof. Mahmoud Shakl, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship; Prof. Samia Al-Azab, Dean of Dental College; Prof. Shady Y. El-Mashad, Dean of Computer Science College; and Mr. Ayman Bayoumi, Assistant Secretary-General of the University. Prof. Ahmed Ibrahim El-Sharif, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Leaders Foundation, also presented at the seminar.
In his speech, Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized that organizing this seminar reflects the university's commitment to its educational and enlightening role towards its students and staff by highlighting the key issues and challenges facing the state amid rapid regional and international changes.
He noted that the university aims, through the “Awareness” initiative, to build a generation of youth aware of their national issues, capable of critical thinking, and actively participating in facing challenges and achieving sustainable development goals.
Prof. Tamer Samir added that youth are the true wealth of any society, and empowering them intellectually and knowledge-wise is a fundamental pillar for building a more stable and prosperous future for Egypt.
Prof. Mahmoud Shakl pointed out the importance of universities in preparing young cadres capable of dealing with regional and international changes, emphasizing that facing challenges starts with awareness of them, followed by working to turn them into opportunities for building a more stable and progressive future.
Prof. Ahmed Ibrahim El-Sharif highlighted that the Leaders Foundation always seeks to support initiatives that enhance national awareness and support sustainable development, stressing the necessity of knowledge and awareness of the ongoing international and regional challenges and their impact on development, as well as the state's role in addressing these challenges and opening broader horizons for youth to actively participate in their national issues.
