Benha National University Council held its meeting, chaired by Prof. Tamer Samir, University President, with the attendance of Prof. Hussein Al-Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Vice President for Employment, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, program directors, council members, and the University Secretary-General.
Prof. Tamer Samir stated that the council approved the regulations for the Nursing College program and feasibility studies for establishing new colleges, including the College of Languages and Translation—the first language college in Qalyubia Governorate—alongside the Nursing and Media and Communication colleges. This aligns with the university’s efforts to expand academic offerings and provide diverse educational opportunities at reasonable costs.
The council also approved the minutes of the first meeting of the Research, Development, and Innovation Center for Converging Sciences and Emerging Technologies, marking a qualitative leap in scientific research and reinforcing the university’s position as a smart educational institution supporting innovation and applied research.
Prof. Hussein Al-Maghraby reviewed the adoption of Academic Reference Standards (ARS) for the Software Development and Applications and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning programs, as well as mechanisms to support outstanding, struggling, and creative students, including those with special needs in the Computer Science program.
Prof. Al-Maghrabi highlighted the university’s participation in the Arab World Award competition in Amman, Jordan, on November 25th, the creation of professional diplomas, and training workshops for students in the Visual Arts and Design program during November.
Prof. Mahmoud Shakal discussed signing cooperation protocols between Benha National University and various educational institutions to provide student training and employment opportunities.
Prof. Shadi Y. Al-Mashad, the President’s Advisor for Digital Transformation and Smart Governance, reviewed progress in establishing the university’s Electronic Examinations Center to serve students.
