The Board of Trustees of Benha National University held a meeting chaired by Prof. Gamal El-Saeed (Chairman of the Board), attended by:
- Engineer Ayman Attia(Governor of Kalyobiya),
- Nasser El-Gizawy(President of Benha University),
- Soheir Shaarawi(Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University),
- Tamer Samir(President of Benha National University),
- Other board members.
Prof. Gamal El-Saeed opened the session by congratulating Prof. Mahmoud Mohieldin (Professor at the College of Economics and Political Science, Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, and Board of Trustees member) on his election as a Fellow of the Royal Economic Society in the UK, one of the world’s most prestigious economic institutions specializing in supporting scientific research and shaping global economic policies.
Prof. El-Saeed emphasized that Benha National University aims to provide world-class academic programs that prepare graduates for competitive job markets, support Egypt’s digital transformation and sustainable development goals, and maintain trust among students and parents.
Prof. Tamer Samir presented the university’s vision for establishing and managing university hospitals and clinics. The Board approved:
- A new university hospitalin Obour City (on land allocated to Benha University), to be managed by Benha National University’s College of Medicine. It will train medical students and serve El-Obour City residents by integrating healthcare, medical education, and research.
- Purchasing a building in El-Obour’s Fourth District (Social Housing Services Area) to establish training clinicsfor medical students.
- Initiating studies for a veterinary hospitaland requesting Kalyobiya Governorate to allocate 2 acres of land for its construction.
The Board also endorsed proposals by Prof. Mahmoud Shakal (Vice President for Innovation, Employment, and Entrepreneurship) to establish an Industrial Services Office, aligning with national policies to link universities with industrial sectors, foster innovation, and localize technology.
Prof. Mohamed Said (University Engineering Consultant) presented plans for a Central Lecture Halls Complex to accommodate growing student numbers in coming years.
