Orphan’s Day

Observed in Egypt on the first Friday of April each year, Orphan’s Day serves as an important humanitarian occasion that renews society’s collective commitment to supporting orphaned children and promoting their emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing. It is a moment that highlights the values of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility.

This occasion extends beyond raising awareness of a social cause; it represents a broader call for individuals and institutions alike to play an active role in creating supportive environments in which children can feel secure, valued, and fully included within the community.

In line with its broader social and developmental mission, Benha National University reaffirms the importance of supporting and empowering orphaned children and promoting their meaningful inclusion in society. The University believes that their care and wellbeing represent a shared responsibility that requires sustained engagement from both institutions and the wider community.

Supporting orphaned children is not limited to meeting material needs. It also involves providing emotional reassurance, social support, and a sense of belonging, elements that are essential in helping children rebuild confidence, restore hope, and look toward the future with greater optimism.

Often, a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a moment of genuine attention can make a lasting difference in a child’s life. The strength of any society is reflected in how it supports its most vulnerable members, and the care extended to orphaned children remains one of the clearest expressions of its humanity and social cohesion.

Benha National University renews its commitment to supporting humanitarian and community-based initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing, inclusion, and development of orphaned children, enabling them to grow as confident and active members of society.

The University extends its sincere wishes for every child to grow in an environment filled with care, hope, and opportunity, while reaffirming the importance of standing beside them not only on this occasion, but throughout the year.
