Benha National University Organizes Student Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum to Promote Cultural Awareness and National Identity

Benha National University organized a cultural visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum as part of its ongoing efforts to deepen students’ appreciation of Egypt’s rich civilizational heritage and strengthen their sense of national identity.

Held under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Khaled Eissawy, Advisor to the President for Student Activities, the initiative brought together 280 students from the University’s various faculties over two days, enabling broad participation in this enriching educational experience.

The visit formed part of the University’s comprehensive student activities program, which seeks to connect students with Egypt’s historical legacy and foster a deeper understanding of the nation’s enduring cultural achievements.

During the tour, students explored the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the world’s most significant cultural landmarks and a flagship national project that reflects Egypt’s commitment to preserving and presenting its heritage in accordance with the highest international museum standards. They toured the museum’s principal galleries, which house thousands of rare artifacts tracing the development of ancient Egyptian civilization across successive eras.

The program also provided students with the opportunity to view the treasures of Tutankhamun, exhibited together in full for the first time, alongside monumental royal statues and exceptional antiquities. Students were also introduced to the museum’s advanced exhibition and interpretation technologies.

The University emphasized that such initiatives form an integral part of its broader educational mission to cultivate well-rounded graduates with strong cultural awareness and a profound appreciation of Egypt’s historical achievements and global standing.

Students expressed their enthusiasm for the visit, describing it as a highly informative and inspiring experience that enriched their historical knowledge and reinforced their pride in Egypt’s civilization and in the country’s continued investment in its cultural and tourism sectors.
