Benha National University Presents the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design Scientific Day 2025–2026, Focused on Creativity, Identity and Innovation

Benha National University presented the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design’s Scientific Day for the 2025–2026 academic year, focused on “Creativity, Identity and Innovation.” The event brought together academics and industry professionals in design, visual arts, and digital creativity, with the participation of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Ghada El-Mosallamy, Director of Programs, Faculty of Visual Arts and Design.

The Scientific Day reflected the University’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and ensuring that academic study remains closely aligned with the latest developments in design and creative practice.

Prof. Tamer Samir emphasized that the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design is a strategic component of the University’s vision to prepare a generation capable of shaping the future and defining its visual identity. He noted that the arts have evolved beyond a means of expression to become a powerful cultural language and a strategic instrument for development, public awareness, and institutional branding.

He added that genuine creativity flourishes in a forward-looking academic environment where art, technology, and innovation converge. In this context, the University seeks to graduate professionals who combine artistic sensibility with strong practical competencies, enabling them to compete successfully at both the national and international levels. He further noted that the Faculty exemplifies the University’s commitment to advancing creative disciplines and aligning them with the evolving demands of the labor market.

Prof. Hussein El Maghraby described the Scientific Day as an important forum for dialogue and the exchange of ideas between students and specialists. He noted that such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening students’ critical and creative capacities, particularly as visual arts and design assume increasing significance across contemporary industries shaped by rapid advances in digital design and visual communication.

The program featured a series of specialized lectures exploring current trends and professional practices in the field.

  • In “Where Heritage Meets Contemporary Furniture,” Prof. Khaled Mehrriz examined the integration of cultural heritage into contemporary furniture design.
  • In “Visual Identity That Leaves a Mark,” Mr. Tarek El-Zeinny highlighted the strategic role of visual identity in shaping enduring brands and institutions.
  • In “Designing Digital Experiences: The Power of UI/UX,” Mr. Karim Hamed discussed how user interface and user experience design are transforming the development of innovative digital products and services.

The Scientific Day forms part of Benha National University’s broader strategy to foster creativity and innovation while strengthening the integration of academic study and practical application.
