Benha National University Dental Students Achieve National Distinction at IDC26 International Dental Conference

Students from Benha National University’s Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine have achieved outstanding results at the IDC26 International Dental Conference, earning top placements in highly competitive national contests and further demonstrating the strength of the University’s academic, clinical, and research training programs. 

The students’ participation, supported by Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and Prof. Hussein El Maghraby, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and coordinated under the supervision of Prof. Heba El-Sebaa, Director of Programs, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, took place within a major professional gathering that brought together leading dental schools, faculty members, and students from universities across Egypt.

The University’s students delivered an exceptional performance in the nationwide Top Students Competition. Nada Walid was awarded Second Place in Conservative Dentistry – Composite Restoration, while Rana El-Sayed secured Third Place in Removable Prosthodontics – Setting, competing against students from public, national, and private universities throughout the country. 

The Faculty was also strongly represented in the practical competitions, with Nader Sameh participating in Fixed Prosthodontics and Reham Ibrahim competing in the Carving Competition, reflecting the high level of clinical preparation and technical proficiency achieved by the University’s students.

In the field of scientific research, a student team comprising Omar Mahmoud, Abdullah Samy Zaki Gohar, Sarah Mohamed Hamdy, and Mariam Khaled Mostafa presented a research poster in Oral Biology. Their work received considerable recognition and highlighted the advanced research capabilities developed by Benha National University students. 

University officials noted that this achievement reflects Benha National University’s educational approach, which integrates rigorous academic study with hands-on clinical training and active engagement in leading scientific forums. This model enables students to refine their practical and research skills while strengthening their ability to compete successfully at both the regional and international levels.

The conference also featured an intensive scientific program, including a distinguished lecture delivered by Prof. Ahmed Kamel from the University’s Department of Conservative Dentistry. The session provided students with valuable exposure to advanced scientific expertise and the latest developments in oral and dental medicine.
