Amid growing cooperation between Egypt and China across a wide range of fields, particularly education, culture, and academic and youth exchange, Benha National University continues its reciprocal participation in the Summer School Programme with Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in the People’s Republic of China. The programme seeks to strengthen ties between the two peoples and open new avenues for cooperation between educational institutions in both countries.
Under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and under the supervision of Prof. Hazem Eliwa, Supervisor of the University’s International Relations Sector, nine students from different disciplines at Benha National University are taking part in the Summer School hosted by Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from 6 to 21 September 2026. The 16-day programme forms part of the growing academic and cultural cooperation between the two universities.
The students’ participation in China follows the first phase of the Summer School Programme, during which Benha National University hosted a delegation from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in Egypt. The programme brought together academic, cultural and student activities, along with educational and field visits, providing the visiting Chinese students with an opportunity to explore aspects of Egyptian culture and civilisation and engage directly with students from Benha National University.
During their stay at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, the Benha National University students are participating in a range of academic, training and cultural activities, with a particular focus on gaining an insight into traditional Chinese medicine and its practices. The programme also provides opportunities for direct engagement with China’s educational and cultural environment, enriching the students’ university experience and broadening their academic and cultural horizons.
The reciprocal nature of the Summer School reflects the two universities’ commitment to taking academic cooperation beyond formal agreements and into practical programmes and student experiences. By creating opportunities for students from both sides to learn, engage across cultures and exchange experiences, the programme contributes to building lasting academic and cultural bridges between Egypt and the People’s Republic of China.
Benha National University places particular emphasis on providing its students with international opportunities as an important means of enriching their educational experience and preparing them to engage with diverse academic and cultural environments. The students’ participation in the Summer School at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine forms part of the University’s efforts to expand its international exchange programmes and provide high-quality opportunities for its students, particularly high-achieving students, to benefit from the educational and training programmes offered by partner universities.
Through this reciprocal participation, Benha National University reaffirms its commitment to leveraging its international partnerships for the benefit of its students and translating international academic cooperation into tangible educational and cultural opportunities that help develop university students who are open to the world and able to draw on international experiences.
