Benha National University Launches Third Season of GDG On Campus-BNU Activities to Strengthen Technical Skills and Prepare Students for the Labour Market

Under the patronage of Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, and under the supervision and in the presence of Dr. Eman Abdel Ghaffar, Director of Programmes at the Faculty of Computer Science, the Faculty organised the launch event for the third season of GDG On Campus-BNU, with the participation of several faculty members and a wide range of students from different academic years who are interested in technology and programming.

The event aimed to familiarise students with the technical tracks offered by the community and introduce them to different areas of technology and their requirements. It also sought to bridge academic knowledge and practical application, while raising students’ awareness of the skills demanded by the labour market and the career opportunities available across the technology sector.

Representatives from three specialised companies took part in the event, sharing practical insights and professional experience concerning the nature of work in the technology sector, the technical and professional skills expected of graduates, and how to prepare for entry into the labour market. They also introduced students to available training and employment opportunities, as well as potential career paths in the field.

The programme also featured a series of introductory talks by Mariam Adel, Leader of GDG On Campus-BNU; Islam Saleh, Co Leader of the Technical Track; and Farida Mohamed, Co Leader of the Non Technical Track. Their presentations highlighted the community’s activities and its role in developing students’ skills, along with the opportunities it provides for learning, professional development and participation in student activities and projects. They also explained the nature and importance of each track in building a career in technology, helping students identify the pathways that best match their interests and future aspirations.

The event attracted considerable interest from students across different academic years, giving them the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and track leads, explore a variety of technical fields, and gain a clearer understanding of the learning and professional development required to meet labour market expectations.

The event reflects Benha National University’s commitment to supporting student-led technology initiatives and strengthening the Faculty of Computer Science’s role in providing a learning environment that encourages practical learning and knowledge exchange. It also supports efforts to build students’ capabilities and prepare them to keep pace with rapid developments in the technology sector, enhancing their readiness to compete in the labour market.

The University reaffirms its continued support for student communities and initiatives that provide meaningful opportunities for learning, engagement with industry professionals, and the development of technical and personal skills, contributing to the preparation of graduates who can innovate and respond to the demands of the digital future.
